NRFP General Contractors for Civic Facilities Small Scale
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the City of Kamloops (the “City”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for General Contractor – Civic Facilities (Small Scale) as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”). The City is seeking qualified general contractors to assist with design and construction of its facilities, including new construction and renovations. To ensure best value and for contractors to best align their skills with the projects, the work is split into two streams – small scale (<$1,000,000) and medium-scale ($1,000,000-$30,000,000). This opportunity is specifically focused on small-scale. For small scale projects, the City will qualify up to two contractors for delivery of facilities new construction and renovations. These projects will seek to involve the contractor early so design can be finalized collaboratively through a coordinated team. Working together transparently on risk management will ensure fairness by making sure projects are scoped fully, it also allows for material procurement risk mitigation through early purchase and storage. The intent with early involvement is to mitigate risks for project as much as possible, whether in terms of cost, supply chain, schedule, or constructability. An MMCD Unit rate Contract, CCDC2, CCDC5, or CCD14 may be used based as the project delivery model that provides the best value to the City.
