Julesburg Re-1 Unified Improvement Plan 2023-2024
The Julesburg Re-1 Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) for 2023-2024 addresses priority performance challenges across three schools: Julesburg Elementary School (JES), Julesburg Middle/High School (MS/HS), and the Destinations Career Academy of CO (CODCA). Key areas of focus include improving student achievement and growth in ELA and math, particularly for students with disabilities, English learners, and those eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. The plan also emphasizes closing achievement gaps, enhancing career and technical education (CTE) programs at CODCA, improving graduation rates, and strengthening instructional practices through professional development and data-driven decision-making. Strategies include implementing explicit instruction, co-teaching strategies, utilizing a learning impact coach, and refining MTSS models. The plan utilizes internal assessments (NWEA, DIBELS, STAR) to track student progress and inform instructional decisions, given the impact of Colorado's opt-out law on state assessment participation.
