Judson University Convocation Chapel
The event was the first chapel of the 2025-2026 academic year, presided over by Warren Anderson, Director of the Damas Center for Worship in the Performing Arts. The session included musical preludes, congregational singing of historical hymns focusing on prayer, and an invocation. A significant portion of the event was dedicated to recognizing Josephine Meyers, the 2025 President Scholar Award recipient, highlighting her academic achievements, leadership contributions, and dedication to learning. The chapel then transitioned to setting expectations for the semester under the theme 'A Joyful Lifestyle, Faith in Action,' emphasizing a godly lifestyle based on the Book of James and contrasting worldly desires with God's desires. Expectations were formalized through a pledge embodying the fruits of the spirit.

The content appears to be a transcript from an event featuring Rob Currie, possibly related to student leadership and a chapel service. Key discussion points included an announcement for a chapel dedicated to student leadership, encouraging interested students to attend for opportunities and potential payment, and an extended discussion about the Book of Proverbs as a source of wisdom for navigating major life decisions such as career, finance, relationships, and health. The speaker shared personal anecdotes, including overcoming a frightening sleep paralysis experience by invoking the name of Jesus, and recounted the biblical story of King Solomon's judgment regarding two women claiming a baby. The overall theme emphasized the powerful and practical nature of the wisdom contained in Proverbs for young adults.

Judson University Celebration Remarks
President Dr. Gene Crume delivered remarks at the DCWPA 10th Anniversary Celebration, expressing gratitude to his predecessor, Chancellor Jerry Kane. The address highlighted the importance of the two signature qualities of the Demos Center for Worship and Performing Arts: worship and community. Worship emphasizes bringing effort so that God brings excellence, moving beyond societal definitions of excellence (more money, power, fame). Community encompasses the entire Judson community (students, faculty, staff, alumni) and the broader Elgin, faith, and global communities, referencing how the community supported the university following a tragic accident involving two students. The remarks concluded with an invitation for all attendees and viewers to be part of this community, which shapes lives that shape the world.
