The subcommittee held a presentation regarding food services, focusing on nutrition standards and compliance. Public participation included feedback from a student representative and parents regarding improved food variety and quality, requests for clarification on farm-to-school initiatives, suggestions for menu substitutions, and concerns about meal customization options. Future agenda items included a proposal to evaluate the expansion of the Farm to School program to ensure equitable access across the entire district.
The Superintendent provided a district update covering several key items, including the Fiscal Year 2027 budget process, a professional development overview, and an update on information technology. The presentation featured spotlights on district staff and an athletics highlight for East Hartford High School students.
